Aaron David Babner, of Mechanicsburg, got into a "verbal argument" with another man at the Subway located at 90 Newberry Commons on Saturday, Oct. 1, Township police.
Sometime during the incident, he left the restaurant, retrieved a firearm from his vehicle, then approached the 16-year-old girl, "and pressed the firearm to the back of her head" but did not fire it, police learned from identifying witnesses.
Babner had fled the scene before Township police arrived.
He was tracked to his home in Upper Allen Township, where local police conducted "a search of his residence revealed a firearm found in a hidden compartment that had an obliterated serial number," as stated in the release.
Babner was taken into custody and charged with a felony for Altering Or Obliterating Marks of Identification, as well as four misdemeanors for Simple Assault, Terroristic Threats With Intent To Terrorize Another, Firearms Not To Be Carried Without A License, and Possession Of Weapon, police say and court records confirm.
He has been held in the York County Prison after failing to post $10,000 in bail, court records show.
His preliminary hearing has been scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Scott J. Gross on Dec. 5 at 1 p.m., according to his latest court docket.
Babner has a lengthy court court record across York and Cumberland counties for various offenses, including stealing $40,000 worth of steel in 2013, for which he was sentenced to probation and mandatory completion of an Anger Management program and the judge required him to submit a copy of the course completion certificate to the court, according to court records.
